Many Moons Ago

I began my career...in the last century. It's often discouraged to admit one's experience if more than 25 years in the work force. But I learned so much in the past decades, that I'm happy to admit it. I've earned my wrinkles!

 

The breadth of my career has given me many tools in my tool belt. It's allowed me to use many software applications and languages, systems development methodologies, and analysis techniques. What it's taught me the most, though, is the importance of listening to the customer. It's also taught me to understand IT constraints and organizational conflicts on bandwidth and resources.

Another takeaway -- amid the project successes -- pertain to project failures.

Unfortunately, when a project fails in terms of missing deadlines or going over-budget, it's almost always foreseeable.The missed milestones may be duly noted, but the factors that lead to a project going off-course often persist. Having observed this pattern many times influences the mission of my consultancy. I don't want to see this happen. I'm dedicated to helping you bring your projects on-track and to a successful close.

When I first hung out my shingle as a sole-proprietor, I found it desirable to seek long-term gigs. Job security was key to me. But now as I move back to the field in the fullness of my career-- I want to help you by being an effective temporary resource.

Give me the challenges for which you need help, and I will use my expertise to solve them. Then let me go. I will be delighted when, based on my results, you bring me back the next time you need me.

This work model is most likely to be the most cost-effective and time-effective for you.

 

I'm open to short term gigs and part-time needs. I'm also open to filling in for your technical or business team staff on extended vacations or temporary leave.
